United Against Malaria
Medium Well just finished up the production work on a new homepage design for United Against Malaria. If all goes well, the remainder of the site should be finished by early next year. Fox and Gazelle of New York worked on the new designs–they are a pleasure to work with.
United Against Malaria is confident that we knock out malaria, reducing the number of deaths by millions by 2014 and to near zero by 2015. Here are some facts taken from their website.
About Malaria
- - Malaria kills a child in Africa every 45 seconds and nearly one million people each year
- - Worldwide, 3.3 billion people are at risk of malaria – that’s half of the world population
- - 91% of malaria deaths occur in Africa; 85% of these are children under 5 years of age
- - In addition to the death toll, malaria contributes to the cycle of poverty and limits economic development: Malaria costs Africa at least $12 billion in lost productivity every year
- - 40% of African health expenditures are on malaria alone
Working on a project as important as this has been a complete pleasure for our team at Medium Well. We hope to continue doing great work for the cause in 2012.
